A non-invasive solution for identifying allergic sensitivities.
Convenient and easy to use for any veterinarian.
Requires only a blood draw; no shaving or sedation required.
Measures allergen-specific IgE antibodies in the serum.
Identifies specific allergens for treatment or avoidance.
Reliable and reproducible results, minimizing false positives.
No steroid or anti-histamine withdrawal necessary.
ELISA Technology The ELISA Canine assay is powered by a highly purified, affinity-pure polyclonal anti-IgE antibody. Feline and Equine assays were developed using cutting-edge recombinant DNA technology.
Assay Technique
The ACTT ELISA is a highly sensitive and specific test for the measurement of allergen-specific serum IgE.
In the ELISA test, an enzyme reaction catalyzes a color change in a reporter solution, in direct correlation to the amount of IgE in the test sample.
Sensitivity and specificity of ELISA tests compare well to older radio immune assays (RIA), and have the added advantages of reagent stability and safety, since unstable radioisotopes are not used.
The ELISA requires only a 5-hour processing time. All test results are promptly mailed, faxed or emailed.
